Dear For Every Step Community:
Over the past month, I have been deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support surrounding For Every Step.
With my father's passing, this organization quickly became an outlet for creating positivity, and honoring my father in the most meaningful way possible; he spent the majority of his lifetime giving back to others, and that is why honoring him means continuing in that spirit of service.
For Every Step was built on the belief that even small acts of kindness - allocating ten minutes to craft a card - can bring comfort and hope to those who are struggling. I am incredibly grateful and overwhelmed with the level of support that has been given, especially after my father's passing. Because of you, we have raised nearly $2,000 in donations, hand delivered cards to Gaylord Outpatient Care (more to come on that..), and reached the halfway point for our first cohort of support program members.
I want to extend my most sincere thanks to students of North Haven High School, St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Religious Education, Haddam-Killingworth Regional, Sacred Heart University, and all those across the country who have volunteered their time in crafting cards. Words cannot express the impact that your kindness has had on not only my, but rehabilitation patients' hearts.
With that being said, this is only the beginning of For Every Step. As we move forward, there are exciting developments ahead. More people to care for, more of an impact to create.
Thank you all for standing with us, for continuing to grow this organization, and helping to honor the life of my father. I will see you all tomorrow at Chipotle!
With the utmost gratitude,
Jack Keaney
